​Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD would like to remind the public to remain vigilant against phone scams that aim to obtain customers’ personal and banking information with the intention of causing financial loss.

 

BIBD advises the public to exercise caution when answering calls from unfamiliar local or international numbers as well as to refrain from disclosing any personal information over the phone or other media platforms such as e-mail, social media and others.

 

BIBD also informs the public that BIBD does not make use of messaging applications or third party platforms when contacting the customers. Should there be any initiatives requiring or requesting for customers’ details, this will only be performed after due notice has been made to the public through the Bank’s official channels.

 

The public and customers may verify the authenticity of calls received from BIBD by contacting the Contact Centre through mobile chat of BIBD NEXGEN Wallet or by calling 2238181. Members of the public or customers who believe they have received hoax calls or phone scam attempts should contact the Royal Brunei Police Force to lodge an official police report.
