Post: ASEAN Workshop Concludes with Focus on Carbon Pricing and Market Strategies

Bandar seri begawan: Sharing experiences, technical knowledge, and best practices in improving ASEAN's capabilities was among the goals of the ASEAN Workshop on Carbon Pricing and Carbon Markets. The workshop, which ended on 21st May 2026, gathered officers from the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change, the government and the private sector as well as technical experts from abroad.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the workshop reflected the nation's commitment in strengthening regional and international collaborations in addressing climate change issues. Apart from that, it also aimed to improve the technical capacity development of countries in the ASEAN region in tackling climate change through the Carbon Exchange policy and financial channelling.

Participants of the workshop engaged in discussions and activities focused on enhancing the understanding and implementation of carbon pricing mechanisms and carbon markets. The event served as a platform for exchanging insights on innovative approaches and effective strategies to address climate-related challenges within the region.

The collaborative efforts highlighted at the workshop are expected to contribute significantly to the region's climate goals. It emphasized the importance of collective action and the sharing of resources and expertise to achieve sustainable outcomes in combating climate change across ASEAN member states.
