The Al-Quran Learning Programme at Government and Private Secondary Schools and Colleges was also held in the Tutong District. The programme which was co-organised by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs is included in the school's curriculum once a week for 30 minutes during the Islamic Religious Knowledge subject.
Such a programme aimed in realising the reading practise of Al-Quran among the Bruneian and producing an Al-Quran literate generation who can read Al-Quran verses fluently and with tajwid. The formal Al-Quran learning is continued for secondary school students from Year 9, 10 and 11 as a continuation of Al-Quran subject syllabus that has been learnt at the special religious school under Ministry of Religious Affairs. Students who participated in the programme will be evaluated based on the stipulated guidelines.
