774 New Cases, 2,344 Cases Recovered
The latest COVID-19 situation in the country. 10 COVID-19 cases are in Category 4, while 1 case is in Category 5. In the past 24 hours, 2 COVID-19 cases have passed away, in which 1 case was categorized as death due to COVID-19. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health informed the matter at the Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Joining the media conference was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs.
774 new cases were reported, taking total cases to 130,611. Of the new cases, 671 were from ART results uploaded to the Ministry of Health’s portal, while 103 were from 1,238 RT-PCR lab tests.
In the meantime, 2,344 cases have recovered, bringing total recovered cases to 122,905 with 7,504 cases remaining active.
At present, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 3.3 percent whereas 133 active cases are placed in isolation centres and hospitals, while 7,371 positive cases are on home self-isolation.
