The case against Ramzidah binti Pehin Datu Kesuma Diraja Retired Colonel Hj Abdul Rahman and Hj Nabil Daraina bin Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin continued in the High Court yesterday. The Prosecution, led by Jonathan Caplan QC, called another six officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau to testify.

An officer who was involved with the second search at the First Defendant’s office on the 10th January 2018 testified that amongst the items seized from the locked drawers were bank passbooks, withdrawal slips, bank letters, bank statements, bankruptcy files, official receipts and cash totalling to $47,488.00.

The Court heard the evidence from officers who were tasked for the seizure of vehicles belonging to the Defendants. On the afternoon of 5th March 2018, the bureau searched and seized Porsche Cayman GT4, Porsche Cayman, Mercedes Benz AMG, Porsche Macan, Range Rover and Volkswagen Golf R cars. These were from the Defendants’ house. All the cars were pasted with Seized Property Forms on the front windscreens, and loaded onto tow trucks before being transported to a storage area.

Later on the same evening, more cars were searched and seized from the house of First Defendants’ parents. These cars were Mercedes Benz CLS 63 Coupe AMG, Nissan GTR Premium Edition, Audi Q7 and two Jaguar F Type cars.

On the 12th of March 2018, a Volkswagen Sirocco R and Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG were seized from the First Defendants’ parents’ home.

Photographs of the search conducted at the Defendants’ offices and home were introduced in Court.

Statements from the Defendants were recorded by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officers. Jonathan Caplan QC informed the Court that the contents of the statements would be read out in due course.

The trial will continue again on the 9th this month at 9 in the morning.
