3 local men were brought before the court following two separate theft cases reported to the Central and Berakas Police Stations, which involved stolen car tyres and rims. The first incident was reported on the 24th of September at a business premise area in Kampung Serusop with the second incident on the 14th of October at the Kampung Sungai Bunga Parking Area. Investigations by the police conducted on the two cases resulted in the arrests of the three men, 22-year-old Muhammad Azem Hazwan bin Abdul Razak; Mohd Shahrulddin bin Mohd Sopihan, aged 18, and a 16-year-old male teen believed to be involved in the criminal activity.
According to Probationary Assistant Superintendent of Police Pengiran Haji Muhammad Habir bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, Traffic and Criminal Investigation Officer, Central Police Station, Bandar Seri Begawan, the court has sentenced Muhammad Azem Hazwan bin Abdul Razak to 8 weeks imprisonment in Maraburong Prison. Meanwhile, Mohd Shahrulddin bin Mohd Sopihan was remanded at Maraburong Prison until the following case mention and the third defendant who is underage was released on court bail until the next case mention. The Royal Brunei Police Force advises the public to always be cautious and to park their vehicles in well-lit areas and not to leave their vehicles in isolated areas without any form of monitoring.
