As a measure towards socialisation of literature with the latest methods and approaches, members of University Brunei Darussalam's Art and Literature Enthusiasts Group Club, RAKIS, yesterday afternoon held a Tamu Puisi and literature enthusiasts gathering.
The event was attended by Associate Professor Doctor Ampuan Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, Director of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Islamic Studies Centre, University Brunei Darussalam. The Tamu Puisi or poets gathering was attended by writers from several Secondary Schools, Sixth Form Centres and Institutes of Higher Learning in the country. The programme was organised to extend Literature to the community and give them the opportunity to display credibility in planning and organising projects in a more systematic and effective way. In an interview the Chairman of RAKIS expressed the hope such an event would be organised regularly and could produce more writers of literature in the country.
