His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses the importance of effectiveness in enforcing the Acts and Regulations to control the presence of foreign workers without employers which seems to have become widespread. Delivering the titah during an unscheduled working visit to the Department of Immigration and National Registration and the Labour Department at Jalan Menteri Besar, yesterday morning, the Monarch also highlights issues of increasing foreign workers quotas, contract extension or renewal, usage of independent or freelance quotas for a payment to the quota owners and false company license syndicate. In this regard, His Majesty calls for monitoring of the matter and stresses that corruption is not allowed to poison the management and administration of the government sector. His Majesty emphasises the control and regulations are made so that the interests of the country are protected, security guaranteed, socio-economy develops properly to fulfil the government's aspiration to see the country as a Business and Tourism Hub.
