With countries around the world and region putting more emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, T-Vet for social and economic development, there is a higher expectation for Seameo Voctech to fulfil its mandate; that is to assist the Seameo-member countries to identify and solve common problems in T-Vet.
The Deputy Minister of Education said it is important that Seameo Voctech provides the expertise and services that will not only meet the needs of individual countries but to bring about positive development and enhancement of regional T-Vet system in the medium and long term as a whole. Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the 30th Governing Board Meeting of Seameo Voctech and the Culmination Ceremony of 2nd Round of Technical Skills Upgrading Programme for Vocational and Technical Teachers in Southeast Asia. The event was held this morning at the Seameo Voctech Regional Centre in Gadong.
The meeting attended by the Governing Board Members, Representatives and Paper presenters coming from the ten Southeast Asian countries will report, deliberate and reflect over programmes and activities conducted in the last fiscal year.
14 participants of the 2nd Round of Technical Skills Upgrading Programme for Vocational and Technical Teachers in Southeast Asia received their certificates during the ceremony in recognition of their skills and talent as Master Trainers in Service Excellence Services in Hospitality, Restaurant Services and Operations and Automotive Engineering.
