A Malaysian man was sentenced to imprisonment by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for theft. According to Probationary Inspector Awangku Muhd Waie @ Awangku Fathurrahman bin Pengiran Abdullah Sani, Investigation Officer at the Muara Police Station, 52-year-old Chang Teck Peng, a mechanic at a car air conditioner repair company in Kampung Mentiri, was detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force following a report made to the Muara police station on the 31st of last month.

Following investigation by the police and footage from the company's CCTV, the suspect was found to have stolen the company's money estimated at 1,500 dollars. The case was investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22. The suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment.
