In 1987, The United Nations, UN has declared every 26th of June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which is celebrated worldwide including in Brunei Darussalam. In this regard, a mass Asar prayer and sunat hajat prayer as well as reading of the tahlil and doa was held this afternoon at the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Kampung Tungku.
Among the congregants was Haji Mohd Jaffari Bin Haji Mahadi, Acting Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau. The UN has retained last year’s theme which is “Listen First” as an initiative to enhance support in preventing drug abuse based on science and certainly acts as an effective investment for the well-being of children, youths, family and society.
