His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman last night watched the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Championship. Among those joining the championship was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s son, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness were greeted by Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
In the match, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim proceeded to the quarter finals of the Under 13 Youth Category, after beating Muhammad Daffa bin Ali Hussin with straight set 21-12, 22-20.
Over 300 participants compete in the championship that is divided into 9 categories. Organised by Imperial Sports with the support of the Brunei National Badminton Association, the championship takes place until the 30th of this month.
