The authorities have once again foiled a gambling activity. The activity came to light in an 'Operasi Serbuan' conducted by the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit as well as the Housebreaking and Car Theft Unit, Crime Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force. All suspects and seized items were brought to the Crime Investigation Department for further investigation and the case is being investigated under the Common Gambling Houses Act, Chapter 28.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Norainah binti Haji Md Salleh, Crime Investigation Department the raid was carried out on a small room in a house at No. 20, Simpang 710, Kampung Masin. A gambling activity of the 'Twenty Nine' card game was found to be ongoing at the time. 10 male suspects were apprehended, involving Bangladeshis aged between 30 and 50. The police also found equipment for the gambling activity including two sets of playing cards and cash money.
The Royal Brunei Police Force welcomes the support of the public in helping them eradicate criminal activities in the village areas as well as provide information that allows appropriate action to be taken.
