Brunei Darussalam will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri this Thursday, 6th June. In this regard, the sunat Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayer will be held at all mosques and suraus nationwide from seven thirty in the morning. Yesterday afternoon, the capital resounded with twelve shots of the cannon which has become a tradition in the country to welcome the arrival of the months of Ramadhan and Syawal.
The shots of the cannon were conducted by personnel from the Military Police, Royal Brunei Armed Forces at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in the capital. Meanwhile, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Istana Nurul Iman will be opened for three days staring on the Second day of Hari Raya from 10 in the morning until 12 noon, and from 2 until 4 in the afternoon to allow the public to greet and junjung ziarah His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and other members of the royal family.
