In the efforts to raise the public's awareness on humanitarian issues in Palestine, the Youth Religious Programme under the Ministry of Religious Affairs with the cooperation of Muallaf As-Syahadah Youth, Islamic Da'wah Centre and Syababul Iman Youth Group of Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kampung Sengkurong organised the 'Brunei Peduli Palestin' programme. The programme, supported by Times Square, DSunlit Sendirian Berhad, Samima Sendirian Berhad and MK "Fashion Sports House and Embroidery" was held at the Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas.
The programme was officiated yesterday morning by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs. The inaugural programme was part of the activity from "Dignity is Priceless" campaign, a joint project between the Ministry Religious Affairs and The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, UNRWA.
The function was followed by a sharing session by the representatives of UNRWA; Dayang Hartini binti Zainudin, UNRWA Partner Relations Expertise for South East Asia and Awang Ahmed Alhaj Ahmed, Undergraduate from Palestine who is studying at the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University,. UNISSA.
At the ceremony, Yang Berhormat Pehin received assistance for the Humanitarian Aid Fund for Palestine refugee from several agencies and private companies.
Various activities were lined up throughout the programme such as an interactive exhibition of "Palestine Tunnel", charity performance, talk and Forum. Also present was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
