Tadarus Al-Quran ceremonies at mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan ended on 30th May night with the Tadarus and Khatam Al-Quran Closing Ceremony. The function took place at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
Leading the reading of Surah al-Fatihah was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Ra'es of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.
The function was followed by a Tadabbur Al-Quran delivered by Awang Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak, Assistant Lecturer at the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University.
The function continued with the mass reading of Takhtim, followed by the Doa Khatam. It ended with the reading of Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Brunei Darussalam. The Tadarus Al-Quran Closing Ceremony for mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide was organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Mosque Affairs Department in collaboration with the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Takmir Committee and Radio Television Brunei.
