The Court has provided an explanation in relation to telephone calls made to the public requesting their Identity Card numbers and instructing them to obtain and pay summons or to make arrangements related to other court matters.
Making the explanation during a Media Conference, the Supreme Court in Bandar Seri Begawan stated that the calls were fake or fraudulent and advised the public to be cautious.
The Court also informed the public that if they received such a call, do not to provide any information to the caller and call the Court on its given numbers immediately to confirm the validity of the call. The Court will only contact the public during office hours and use its official telephone lines.
