Possession of firecrackers and fireworks is prohibited because of the dangers to public safety such as injuries, damage to property and fires. In related action, the Royal Brunei Police Force with the cooperation of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, has arrested two local suspects believed to be involved in selling and possessing firecrackers. Both suspects were detained at the parking lot of Kampung Masin Mosque and an inspection of their vehicle uncovered hidden firecrackers in the front passenger area.
