In the Tutong District, the ‘Kembara Amal Ramadan’ Programme also began with the Youth Tadarus and Khatam Al-Quran and a mass Fardu Zuhur prayer. The function took place at the Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah mosque in Kampong Sungai Kelugos.
In attendance was Yang Berhormat Haji Umarali bin Esung, member of the Legislative Council. The ceremony was attended by the youths from the Tutong District Youth Associations; Youth Volunteers, Mosque Youths; Secondary School students; Government and Private agencies as well as individuals. Also present were the Permanent and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The programme coincided with the donation presentation to the aid recipient families under the Community Development Department, JAPEM. The delegation also visited five recipients’ homes located in Kampung Padnunok, Kampung Bukit Sulang, Jalan Lamunin and Kampung Panchong. Handing over the donation was Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Permanent Secretary for Police and Strategy Management at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also participating was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai.
Recipients’ homes at Kampung Bukit in Mukim Ukong, Kampung Lubok Pulau also visited by the delegation. Donations were presented by Retired Colonel Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya. The ‘Kembara Amal Ramadan’ programme, an annual programme organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports act as an outreach initiative to all district in handing over donations to the needy people aside from enlivening the holy month of Ramadhan with full of blessings.
