The policy of organising and implementation of the objective of the National Family Day which is celebrated every year in Brunei Darussalam is in line with the recommendations and requirements of Islam. Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam also urges for family members to be good to each other and follow the Prophet's examples. A happy and harmonious family will produce a stable community and in the end will shape a peaceful and prosperous country. This was among the contents of a talk during the "Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat" programme at Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque early yesterday morning.

Among those in attendance was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. Also present were Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang; Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Dawn Talk titled 'Keluargaku Harapanku' or 'My Family, My Hope' delivered by Awang Haji Asminan bin Awang Haji Chuchu, the Special Grade Mosque Affairs Officer, Mosque Affairs Department, among other things explained that the National Family Day which commenced with events held at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide showed the Brunei community and families are faithful and pious ummah as underlined in Al-Quran which states that whosoever strives to enliven the mosque are among the faithful and pious.
