His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning presented house keys under the Bukit Beruang National Cluster and Terrace Housing Scheme, in the Tutong District. More than 400 recipients received the house keys at the ceremony which took place at the Seri Kenangan Hall, Community Hall Complex in Tutong District. The award of the house keys proves the government's commitment in upholding the monarch's desires specifically in providing sustainable housing in line with His Majesty's vision and Wawasan Brunei 2035 towards enhancing the life quality of the people.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; and Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Tutong District Officer.

The function began with a reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pengiran Haji Shahril Azman bin Pengiran Haji Metusin, Syariah Lower Court Judge in Tutong district.

The Tutong District Officer in his welcoming speech among others, said the presentation of the house keys reflects His Majesty's care and attention towards the well-being and welfare of the people in further fostering unity in the Tutong district.

4 hundred and 51 recipients received keys under the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme. 65 received keys to cluster houses, while 386 were awarded keys to terrace houses.

His Majesty's government through the Ministry of Development is currently organizing an overall evaluation on the National Housing Scheme to ensure it is durable and able to meet the application demand. The evaluation also covers the housing design and quality of construction for future houses.

To bless the ceremony, doa selamat was read by Tutong District Syariah Lower Court Judge. To date, more than 28 thousand unit of houses and land lots were provided under RPN and STKRJ nationwide. From the amount, 2 thousand 695 were recipients under RPN for the Tutong District.
