Facing Cancer; Preventing Cancer Through Healthy Food as well Cancer And Spiritual Practice, Leaving It All to Allah the Almighty were among the topics discussed at the Knowledge Seminar for the nation's Arabic and Religious schools. The seminar was organised by the Islamic Studies Department in conjunction with World Cancer Day.
The event was attended by Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Acting Director of Islamic Studies. It was conducted by three panellists, Dr. Awang Haji Muhd Syafiq bin Abdullah, Oncology Consultant, Palliative Care Unit of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital; Dayang Hajah Roseyati bin Dato Paduka Haji Yaakob, Senior Nutritional Officer, Health Promotion Centre and Dayang Hajah Zaleha binti Haji Ibrahim, Certified Daie of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. Among other things, the seminar aimed to raise awareness on the importance of personal health, increase knowledge on cancer which is a high risk disease and to create awareness on health care, as well as cancer prevention and treatment.
