A 15-year-old local teen was apprehended by the Royal Brunei Police Force on suspicions of being involved in theft activities. According to the police, as a result of the case mention at the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates Court on 27th April, the suspect was remanded for a month at the Welfare House Complex to undergo monitoring while waiting for further mention. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Muhammad Amerol bin Haji Metusin, Commanding Officer of Sungai Liang Police Station, a number of jewellery such as gold necklaces and bangles as well as a laptop were retrieved after the items were reported missing around March and April, believed to have been stolen from two different locations in the Sungai Liang Area, Belait District. The retrieval of the evidence was a result of the arrest made by the Sungai Liang Police Station personnel on a 15 year old male suspect believed to have conducted the theft from a house and a car. The suspect was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court to face charges under Section 379 and Section 380 of the Penal Code Chapter 22 which are Theft and Theft in a Dwelling.
