Brunei Darussalam's Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), Singapore reaffirmed their commitment to enhance efforts in combating corruption through active engagement and mutual cooperation which is in accordance with Article 48 of the Law Enforcement Cooperation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) where it emphasizes on the need for state parties to cooperate closely with one another, consistent with their respective domestic legal and administrative systems to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement action to combat the offences covered by the convention. The commitment was stressed upon during the 1st Annual Bilateral Meeting between the two countries held at the CPIB Office.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Denis Tang, Director of CPIB, Singapore and Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Elinda bte Haji C.A. Mohammad, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office who is also the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. The meeting aimed to further strengthen collaborative efforts against corruption and to increase capacity and institutional building in preventing and combating corruption. During the meeting, both agencies discussed and shared experiences, good practices on effective methodologies of investigation in fighting corruption and strategies on prevention of corruption.
