The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association through the Cub Scouts Division celebrated World Earth Day and World Book Day yesterday morning.
The event was launched by Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali, Chief Commissioner of Scouts. Prior to that there was a five-minute mass book reading which aimed to empower the reading culture and provide better understanding on the importance of reading among the Cub Scouts.
Planting green bean seeds in plastic cups was carried out by the Scouts Leader of Orang Kaya Besar Imas Primary School in Subok. It was intended to build and activate the global movement and individual action such as stopping the use of pesticide and herbicide as well as practising a plant-based diet.
