Vehicle owners and vehicle workshop managers are urged to be more responsible for their vehicles and not to abandon them which can result in obstruction of public access ways, parking areas and the environment in general. The statement was made following the moving of 15 more vehicles believed to be abandoned at the Kampung Pintu Malim and Kampung Tamoi areas.

The abandoned vehicles were towed by the Abandoned Vehicles National Project Committee. To date, 1 thousand 355 cases of abandoned vehicles have been solved in the Bandar Seri Begawan area. The government will also not bear any losses for crashes and the offence can be charged under the Minor Offences Act Chapter 30 and the Traffic Act Chapter 68.
