Brunei Darussalam and Sarawak, Malaysia are enhancing the existing bilateral relations in various fields. This was discussed during a Goodwill Visit by Assistant Minister for Utilities (Rural Electrification) of Sarawak to the Minister of Religious Affairs. The goodwill visit took place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Berakas.

During the visit, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Yang Berhormat Datuk Doctor Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Junaidi exchanged views in enhancing the existing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, specifically in matters of mutual interest. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

Meanwhile, several matters of mutual interest were discussed during a visit by Assistant Minister for Utilities (Rural Electrification) of Sarawak to the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB. Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, the Ra'es of KUPU SB, in his welcoming speech explained on the institution. Among the matters discussed during the visit include the International Halal Food Product Expo and the cooperation between Brunei Darussalam, Sarawak and Sabah in expanding the halal product and certificate.
