The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department has conducted a Basic Tourist Guide Course. The training is the department's effort to upgrade and enhance the skills of tourist guides in the country so that they are of high quality and fulfil the set standards. The course participants received their certificates at the Ministry yesterday afternoon.

The certificates were presented by Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. The Basic Tourist Guide Course was conducted in collaboration with Laksamana Business College as the appointed institution and 17 Tourist Guides who have passed the Theory and Practical Examinations. During the course, the participants were taught basic theories and practical skills on the duty of a Tourist Guide, and given an introduction on the main tourist destinations and places of interest in the country. The course aimed to coordinate information from every Tourist Guide to ensure they are correct and precise as well as to open job opportunities to youths in the country.
