Retirement is a transition that provides retirees with the opportunity to open up a new page in their lives which may be vastly different from the working world as a public servant. The Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education said the development and transformation of today's education is a part of the unending efforts contributed by the retirees. Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad in his speech at the Retirement Ceremony for Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Education hoped that retirees will always support the various efforts made by the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and also contribute their loyal deeds as well as respond to the challenges specifically in together upholding the country's desires towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Doctor Haji Azman said that all the efforts and sacrifices contributed by the retirees, either directly or indirectly has helped to drive the Ministry of Education towards achieving its vision, mission and objectives. The services rendered by the retirees in any form, be it office work, support services or educating students in schools, individually or in a team has certainly shown their goal of together obtaining education excellence and progress in the country towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.
At the function, 200 retirees received their respective certificates from Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. The retirees are officers and staff from departments under the Ministry of Education, teachers from primary and secondary schools as well as colleges and officers and staff from Institute Brunei Technical Educationand Higher Education Institutions. Also present was Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education.
