Several mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide early yesterday morning became the focal point for the Mass Subuh Prayer Campaign which was held simultaneously in the country. The campaign was organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Mosque Affairs Department in further enlivening the National Isra’ Mi’raj celebration 1440 Hijrah.
At the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit mosque in Kampung Manggis/Madang, such campaign was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile in Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, the campaign was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Defence and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health.
Similar ceremony was also held at the Mohamed Bolkiah mosque in Kampung Serusop. Present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.
While at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam mosque, the function was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommuncations. The campaign was also highlighted with the reading of Surah Al-Kahfi and Tadabbur Al-Quran. Also present were Deputy Ministers, members of the Legislative Council, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretary.
