The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) continues its efforts to improve safety of boat operators and passengers. One such effort was the distribution of life-jackets at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Passenger Jetty in the capital.
50 life-jackets or vests were distributed to boat and water taxi operators who ply the Brunei River. Apart from the jackets, pamphlets were also distributed to boat operators, passengers and the general public. The event which was organised by the MPABD with the Ministry of Transportation and Info-communications was attended by Awang Haji Muhammad Nazri Bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transportation and Info-communications, Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal Bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary (for Transportation, Research and Development) at the Ministry of Transportation and Info-communications and Awang Haji Hairul Mohd. Daud Bin Haji Abd. Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (for Info-communications, Cybersecurity, Strategy and Corporate) at the ministry.
The life-jackets were donated by Royal Brunei Technical Service, (RBTS) as the company's support to the MPABD's aspiration.
