The Ministry of Home Affairs in its Financial Year 2019/2020 will also focus on several efforts including improving the ministry's facilities with the cooperation from several agencies and the private sector.
While explaining the matter, the Minister of Home Affairs said the revitalisation project in Kampong Ayer aims to beautify Kampong Ayer and at the same time, improve connectivity at river and land.
According to the Minister, 153 houses will be built in Mukim Saba. The Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas which is under the Central Business District, CBD Revitalisation project, became an added value and a factor in attracting visitors and tourists to the CBD. This can assist in developing economic diversification. In the long run, Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas will increase property value, attract more investment and encourage activities based on culture and heritage. The project will also be capable of contributing towards a quality life in all aspects and make Bandar Seri Begawan even more vibrant.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs also touched on the ministry's continuous efforts to review and update regulations in creating a better eco-system for prosperous life in the country. The Minister said that by the middle of the year, the Ministry will introduce a regulation namely the Hawkers by-Law to regulate hawker activities. The regulation will not only introduce fines for the Minor Offences Act Chapter 30, it will also assist in maintaining cleanliness and ensure well-being, health and safety of the public as well as the environment.
