The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office responded to the 2 queries raised by Yang Berhormat Awang Ramli bin Haji Lahit and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman@Othman on the issue of conditions for the promotion of open vote workers and the freezing of positions in the civil service during yesterday's session.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Mokti said the appointment to Open Vote service is based on the need of the department as well as work scope carried out and not based on the qualifications held by the employees within the open vote service. Yang Berhormat informed that currently there is no hiring freeze and the Prime Minister's gives serious attention towards filling job vacancies. Among the measures taken include continuous discussions between the Prime Minister's Office and other ministries with the objective of identifying positions that need to be filled immediately, of which every ministry and department has been given a target quota of positions that need to be filled.
