43rd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

Unity and centrality are important in ensuring that ASEAN is able to overcome and respond effectively to the challenges that will be faced in the future. The Speaker of the Legislative Council outlined the matter while attending the First Plenary Session, the 43rd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, AIPA. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib added that the impact of COVID-19 towards health, education and economy cannot be predicted and it requires the utmost attention.

 

The AIPA General Assembly was organised by the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

 

In the statement of the message of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the AIPA General Assembly, emphasizes the need for cooperation and collaboration between AIPA and ASEAN in order to achieve the good of the people in the ASEAN region

 

The AIPA General Assembly was officiated by His Excellency Samdech Akka MohaPonhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the 43rd AIPA.

 

At the general assembly, the Speaker of the Legislative Council signed a joint statement and was awarded as AIPA Distinguished Service Award’ for his contribution and commitment given to AIPA. While Dayang Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Lela Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman was appointed as the Secretary General of AIPA.
