Cancer is biologically and genetically complex. Hence, there are multiple diagnostic tests and treatment options available. To care of cancer patients require expertise of many different medical specialists, as well as nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and mental health practitioners. The matter was among touched in a lecture entitled: 'Cancer Care at Mayo Clinic' held at The Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, PJSC, last night.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Jan C.Buckner, the Director of Cancer Centre Mayo Clinic, Rochester United States of America. According to Professor Jan C.Buckner, there are hundreds of different types of cancer, and cancer can arise in any part of the body. Therefore, organizational bodies to address the complexity of care must be carefully considered in order to bring the necessary expertise of multiple providers. Also present was Doctor Haji Mazrul Adimin bin Haji Awang Besar, Executive Director of PJSC.
