Permata 2.0 team that presented the song ‘Tanah Airku’ was crowned champion of the Inter-Mukim Patriotic Song Choir Competition for the ‘Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara’ programme held in conjunction with the 35th National Day celebration. The competition, organised by the Information Department Belait District branch, took place yesterday morning at Anthony Abell College in Seria.

5 teams took part in the competition which was held with the aim to raise patriotism among mukim and village residents. Permata 2.0 team took home a one thousand 500-dollar cash prize and certificates. Meanwhile, the first runner up, Rawdah team was given cash prize worth one thousand 300 dollars and certificates, whereas MPK Labi 1 team that placed third place, took home a one thousand-dollar cash prize and certificates.

Prizes were presented by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, Member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Liang Zone 1, Belait District. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Member of the Legislative Council and Awang Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad, Acting Director of Information.
