4,215 New Cases, 2,395 Cases Recovered
10 COVID-19 cases are in Category 4, while 9 cases are in Category 5. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation held yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Joining the media conference were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education; and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
4,215 new cases were reported, taking total cases to 80,749. Of the new cases, 3,399 were from ART results uploaded to the Ministry of Health’s portal, while 816 were from 5,147 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.
2,395 cases have recovered, bringing total recovered cases to 43,177 with 37,437 cases remaining active.
At present, the bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 11.1 per cent whereby 341 active cases are placed in isolation centres and 37,096 positive cases are undergoing home self-isolation.
