The 'Restoran Tarindak Ungkayah Graduan' or the Tarindak By Graduates Restaurant, the only restaurant that is run and managed by 16 graduates in this country, has officially opened for business started yesterday. It was one of the efforts that was inspired by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in assisting the graduates to be involved in the business world.
The official opening ceremony of Tarindak By Graduates Restaurant, located at the Departure Lounge of the Brunei International Airport, was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Council of States, Deputy Ministers, Persons with Special Seating, Permanent and Deputy Permanent Secretaries. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Al-Quran verses by Dayang Fatin Nor Afifah binti Haji Abd Ghani, one of the graduates involved in running the restaurant.
In her speech, Dayang Nur Sahkina binti Rosli, another graduate involved in managing the restaurant, on behalf of members of the Tarindak By Graduates Restaurant, conveyed their great appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for granting the Tarindak outlet for them to do business and earn a living in accordance with His Majesty's desire to see the youth in the country as agents of change and successful entrepreneurs who are not solely dependent on the Government.
The graduates also expressed their undivided love and respect towards the Monarch, and pray that Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala will always protect and bless His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha as well as members of the Royal Family with continued good health and happiness.
To bless the ceremony, Doa Selamat was recited by Awang Muhammad Yasin bin Awang Yusof and Awang Muhammad Helmi bin Haji Tamam, two of the graduates who are involved in running the restaurant.
The Tarindak By Graduates Restaurant is open from 7 in the morning to 12 midnight, except on Friday which is from 7 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon, and from 2 in the afternoon to 12 midnight.
Members of the public are welcomed to visit the restaurant, and to give strong support as well as encouragement to the graduates for their future endeavours. It is hoped that this will also inspire other graduates to continue in their footsteps to strive and explore new opportunities and to get out of their comfort zone, in line with the aim of making youth as the country's most valued assets and resilient.
