It is also the first day of class for religious schools throughout the country - both for the morning and afternoon sessions.
A number of initiatives are taken by teachers to welcome the students. In order to tackle the issue of the increasing number of pupils from year to year, the teachers have laid out effective strategies to ensure the class are not overcrowded. The new pupils are accompanied by their parents to class. In the Temburong District, around 96 Year-6 students from 12 schools will sit for the Religious Primary School Certificate.
