Continuous efforts are being carried out to assist persons with special needs, so the group can play their part in together contributing to the country. The group needed the society's aid to continue and further develop themselves to a better level. To realise such vision, four students of the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, University Brunei Darussalam, UBD has carried out "Secure Holistic Awareness by Providing Education (S.H.A.P.E) for The Community" project. The project is hoped to educate and raise awareness among the community in the country in lending hands to the special needs.
The "S.H.A.P.E for The Community" project invites all parties in the country to cooperate and become a responsible member of society towards the welfare of the special needs. Awang Khaidiel Fiqrie bin Ahmad, one of the students involved in the project said the society need to be united in efforts to build the modal for the special needs. The society need to accept the special needs and give their best to help them.
According to the student's research, more than 4 thousand individuals in the country are suffering from physical, mental, intellectual, sight, hearing and other form of defects. The students also organised several activities to collect funds for the special needs.
