A delegation of 26 from the Sabah Town and Territory Planning Department JPBW, Malaysia is on a 4-day official visit to Brunei Darussalam to find out the planning procedure in the country as well as to establish a platform for collaboration in the field of town planning.
The delegation is led by Hajah Masnah binti Matsalleh, Permanent Secretary of the Local Government and Housing of Sabah. The visit started at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, and was followed with a tour of the Kampong Ayer Tourism and Cultural Gallery. The aim of the gallery is to develop a small scale industry as an added value to the local economic activity in line with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism's efforts. The delegation also visited a house under the Kampong Ayer Upgrading Pilot Project. Joining the visit were Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, the Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) Ministry of Home Affairs and Doctor Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, the Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Usage and Environment) Ministry of Development.
The visit is to study issues such as land ownership and provision of public facilities at water village. The findings will be used in producing planning guidelines for water villages in Sabah.
