The search and rescue effort of a 9-year old boy that was reported missing at Sungai Kuala Tutong resumed yesterday.
Following the incident, the authorities opened the Incident Command Post at the river bank of Sungai Kuala Tutong to assist in the search and rescue efforts. The missing boy was a Year 3 pupil at the Keriam Primary School in Tutong District. The victim was believed to be playing with other members of his family at the river bank before being dragged away by a crocodile into the river. In an interview with RTB, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, Member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu Mukim Tanjong expressed his sympathy and advised public to be cautious while at river banks and at the beach.
The search and rescue operation involves personnel from the Tutong District Police, the Marine Police, Police Reserve Unit C, Tutong District Operation 'E' Branch, the Diving Unit, the Fire and Rescue Department as well as the victim's family.
