Mosques are the houses of Allah and performing religious acts at mosques as well as performing mass prayers has more blessings compared to praying on your own. The mosque is also one of the major Islamic syiars for the muslim ummah. This was among the matters stressed upon in the Dawn talk during the 'Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat' programme at Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque. The talk was entitled "Peranan Masjid Di Zaman Rasulullah Salallahu'Alaihi Wasallam" or the role of the mosque during the time of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu alaihi Wassalam.

Among those present were Yang Berhomat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, Permanent Secretary for Corporate Affairs and Administration at the Prime Minister's Office.

The talk delivered by Awang Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak, Assistant Adjunct Lecturer, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, underscored a number of the mosque's important roles during the time of Prophet Muhammad Salallahu'Alaihi Wasallam. He explained that the mosque is a place of worship, meetings and discussions, as well as a place of refuge. Most importantly, mosques are also a symbol of guidance for worldly matters and the hereafter. This week's programme was jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Prime Minister's Office.
