Joining the National Service Programme, PKBN is an opportunity for the trainees to gain knowledge and improve themselves physically and spiritually. In a speech during the launch of the 8th PKBN Intake yesterday morning, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports said during the training, the trainees would gain new experience and learn core values intended to make them high calibre persons in the worldly and spiritual aspects. Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin believed that with hardwork and diligence, the trainees would make the country proud and become exemplary youth who would face any challenge or obstacle for the good of the community and country.

The PKBN's latest intake has created history with the largest number of 394 youth comprising 249 boys and 145 girls. During the 3-month training, the participants will be exposed to community work and entrepreneurship to turn them into individuals who care about the welfare and well-being of the community around them. The training is also intended to inculcate confidence and self-reliance.
