The close bilateral relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Thailand continue to prosper and be further strengthened to include numerous cooperation in areas such as in defence, agriculture, education, halal food, culture and tourism. The matter was stated by the Charge d'Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in the country at the reception of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand; the birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thailand Father's Day.
Representing the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Mr. Rooge Thammongkol said both countries have similarities particularly the respect and reverence towards the monarch. Next year, Thailand will be hosting the ASEAN Summit under the theme of 'Advancing Partnership for Sustainability" and seeks to develop an ASEAN Community. The close ties between the two royal families are showcased in the mini-photo gallery exhibited at the venue, depicting exchanges of royal visits with the most recent visit by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn last month.
