Over 11 thousand people took part in the Mass Gathering and Procession in commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW held at Tutong, Belait and Temburong districts. Participation from various walks of life reflects a strong solidarity among Muslims in the country. Through the celebration, Muslims commemorate the sacrifices and efforts of the great prophet in propagating and strengthening the eminence of Islam.
In Tutong District, the Tutong Civic Centre became the focus of the Maulud Assembly and procession. Joining the assembly and procession was Yang BerhormatDato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mat Suny Bin Haji Mohd Hussein, Minister of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry. The event was further enlivened by a DikirMarhaban by students of Ma'had Islam Brunei.
DoaSelamat was read by AwangZeimey bin Haji Ahim, Mosque Affairs Officer and Selawat was led by Awang Haji Abdul Nuin bin Hassan, Former Imam or Prayer Leader at Kampong Tanjong Maya Mosque in Tutong.
Over 5 thousand participants representing 43 teams comprising of government officers and staff, uniformed organisations, associations, students and the private sector took part in the more than 3-kilometre procession around Tutong Town.
In the Belait District, a similar event was held at Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait. Taking part in the event was Yang BerhormatDato Seri SetiaAwang Haji Hamzah Bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education.
The assembly was highlighted with a special religious talk titled 'TarbiahRasulullahMembawaRahmatdalamBerkeluarga' or "Lessons from the Messenger of Allah Bring Blessings to the Family". The talk delivered by Awang Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak, Adjunct Assistant Lecturer, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University among other things touched on the Prophet's noble personality in various aspects specifically in family-hood.
Prior to the procession, the Minister of Education handed over certificates of participation to the participating teams.
The Dikirmarhaban was presented by mosque officers, religious teachers and the Belait District Mosque Takmir committee.
The reading of Doaselamat and Selawat was led by AwangAminorddin bin Haji MohdYussof, Mosque Affairs Officer at PekanSeria Mosque.
The more than 3-kilometre procession around Belait Town was participated by over 4 thousand 3 hundred people, representing 47 teams from government officers and staff, uniformed organisations, associations and the private sector. There are many benefits and blessings for those who recite selawat in praise of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, among the rewards include gain of blessing in daily life.
In Temburong District, the MaulidurRasul Assembly and Procession took place at Bangar Town Civic Centre Field. Taking part in the event was Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AminuddinIhsan Bin Pehin Orang Kaya SaifulMulokDato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. A special talk titled "Lessons from the Messenger of Allah Bring Blessings to the Family" further enlivened the MaulidurRasul Assembly and Procession in the district. The Talk delivered by Awangku Ahmad FarisRamadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin, Mosque Affairs Officer touched on how the Prophet S.A.W is the best of examples in all aspects, including in terms of personality and character.
The DikirMarhaban was presented by dikir groups from Muhammad Salleh Main Mosque in PekanBangar and KampungRataie National Housing Scheme. Doaselamat and Selawat was read by AwangMahdini bin Kamis, Head Imam at KampungSelanganMsoque.
The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports also handed over certificates of participation to participating teams.
Over one thousand 3 hundred people representing 22 teams took part in the MaulidurRasul Assembly and 2-kilometre Procession. Participants comprised government officers and staff, associations, youths as well as Mukim and Village Consultative Council in the district. Commemorating and glorifying the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is a platform towards empowering faith and piety because the Prophet was sent to call on mankind to have faith and belief.
The KampungRataie National Housing team won the best team in the district's Maulud Procession. Prize presentation took place at the end of the event.
