The President of the People’s Republic of China, and delegation is in the sultanate to begin a three-day state visit. His Excellency Xi Jinping arrived early yesterday evening.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to welcome His Excellency Xi Jinping were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Defence as the Minister-in-Attendance; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force; and Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Before leaving the airport, His Excellency the President of the People’s Republic of China walked past a Static Guard mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The official welcoming ceremony for His Excellency’s official visit to the sultanate will be held tomorrow at the Istana Nurul Iman.
