The Muslim Ummah are urged to increase, assimilate and make a nightly practise of reciting the salawat to Prophet Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wassalam and because the salawat is a religious act, cure and light. This includes while commemorating the birth of the Prophet. Verily, there is a multitude of rewards and goodness if we always make a practise of reciting the salawat to the Prophet apart from assuring safety and blessings in daily life. This was highlighted in yesterday's Friday sermon titled "Salawat Menyemarakkan Sambutan Maulud Nabi Muhammad SAW'' or Salawat Glorifies the Maulidur Rasul Celebration.
The imam or prayer leader said that the salawat is commendable to be recited at any time. This means that it is not only recited during certain times such as the month of Rabiulawal or to commemorate the Messenger's birth. The salawat is easy to recite and does not take up a lot of time to do it. Reciting the salawat is a noble practise that will surely receive blessings from Allah SWT. In conjunction with the month of Rabiulawal, the Muslim Ummah throughout the world commemorates the birth of our Messenger, Prophet Muhammad SAW by carrying out religious activities and the people of Brunei Darussalam also commemorates the birth of our Messenger as a way of remembering his deeds and as a sign of our gratitude and love to the Prophet. This includes organising various religious events, among them the 12 consecutive nights of Dikir Syarafil Anam Ceremonies at all mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide. Apart from that religious talks and lectures as well as forums are also held and as usual the main event is the National Level Maulidur Rasul Grand Assembly and Procession.
