Single mothers and women in the country were given the opportunity to learn how to sew at a sewing class organised by the Community and Communication Bureau, Kampung Panchor Mengkubau National Housing Scheme Consultative Council, with the assistance of the Brunei Muara District Office.
The sewing class was officiated yesterday afternoon by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman@Othman, Legislative Council member. 36 people take part in the sewing class comprising single mothers, housewives as well as residents from several villages including RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau, Kampung Serusop, and Kampong Manggis. The class is divided into two groups, and is conducted on every Friday and Sunday afternoon.
According to several participants, the class can assist them to earn more income and encourage them to be more independent.
