During the 9th AMMTC Plus Three consultation, the ministers exchanged views on the need to strengthen the existing cooperation in combating transnational crime, including efforts in addressing the rise of radicalisation and violent extremism, other new forms of transnational crime, as well as the impact of rapidly emerging new technologies.
During the 6th AMMTC Plus China consultation, the ministers raised their concerns over the emerging new strategies and techniques of the offenders of the different transnational crime. The ministers also committed to further strengthen the capacities of the law enforcers of ASEAN and China in addressing the challenges encountered in the field of Organised Transnational Telecom and Network Crimes.
On the side-line of their meeting, the AMMTC delegations paid a courtesy call on His Excellency U-Win Myint, the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The next AMMTC will be held next year in Thailand.
